Tim Cook has transitioned from Apple’s chief executive to the role of executive chair, receiving a compensation package valued at approximately $47 million. This package is composed of a $2 million base salary and $45 million in stock options, with half of these shares contingent upon meeting performance benchmarks. The remaining shares will vest over a period of four years.

Under Cook’s leadership, Apple saw a significant increase in market value, reaching an estimated $4.7 trillion. During his tenure as CEO, his compensation exceeded $74 million in 2025. In his new position as executive chair, Cook will concentrate on external relations, particularly Apple’s interactions with governments, policymakers, and key international markets.

John Ternus, who has a longstanding history with Apple and previously served as the head of hardware engineering, has taken over as CEO. Ternus is set to receive a $3 million base salary along with a $55 million stock award. A larger portion of his compensation is tied to performance, reflecting his new responsibilities in guiding the company’s product strategy and operations.

As Apple’s new chief executive, Ternus is tasked with continuing the company’s legacy of innovation and market leadership. His extensive experience within the company positions him to steer Apple’s strategic direction and oversee its various operations.
