UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed participated in a significant phone discussion with several regional leaders and US President Donald Trump, focusing on the ongoing conflict involving Iran and efforts to ensure security and stability in the Gulf area. This high-level conversation aimed to address diplomatic measures needed to de-escalate tensions and enhance regional cooperation amid persistent instability.

The dialogue included prominent figures such as Bahrain’s King Hamad, Qatar’s Emir Sheikh Tamim, Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, Jordan’s King Abdullah II, Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El Sisi, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, Qatar’s Prime Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman, and Pakistan Army Chief Field Marshal Asim Munir. This assembly of leaders underscores the collective endeavor to address regional security challenges.

The talks coincided with signals from the United States indicating progress in its negotiations with Iran. Officials have suggested that an agreement might soon be within reach, potentially marking a pivotal development in the efforts to stabilize the region.

Since the conflict erupted on February 28, the UAE and several Gulf nations have been subjected to repeated missile and drone attacks launched by Iran. Although a temporary ceasefire earlier this year offered a brief respite from hostilities, recent attacks have reignited apprehensions about the security situation in the Gulf.
